Romance, relaxation and complete privacy are yours when you stay at The Beach Cottage in the heart of Newport's Nye Beach. Built over 100 years ago and totally remodeled, it offers twenty-first century comfort with a fifties flair. Featuring gas log fireplace, TV/VCR/CD player, book and video library, a king size bed in a separate bedroom, a two person whirlpool bath and a twin murphy bed (behind shelf between living room and dining room) for a third person. Custom furnishings include love seat, upholstered swivel rockers, dining-room table and 4 chairs. After a long day of beach combing or shopping, enjoy the atmosphere of the gas fireplace, catch up on reading with the books in the Cottage library or watching a movie from the video collection or treat yourself to a relaxing soak in the two-person whirlpool tub. In the morning, you'll find the delightful black and white kitchen area decor most comfortable with a refrigerator, sink, microwave, hotplate, coffee-maker and table with 4 chairs. Coffe and hot chocolate are provided for your pleasure. A small fenced-in yard and deck welcomes and protects children and pets. Within walking distance, you can wander through the charming shops, partake of fine foods at nearby restaurants, walk to the Performing Arts Center, or stroll on the four-mile beach. A short drive will take you to lighthouses, the aquarium, the Hatfield Marine Science Center and the bay front, where you'll find sea lions, more shopping and eating. Just beyond Newport, you can see some of the most spectacular scenery on the Oregon Coast, Heceta Head, Cape Perpetua or experience beautiful historic sites along the meandering river. |
